Attention! The last JCRR of the year is on Saturday, October 29th! Contact Steve Gritzan at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in selling! Last one was a big success and we expect the same for this upcoming one…
Ever since we started our cassette section at the store, we have been pleasantly surprised to see how much interest people have in them, from all differents walks of life – some buy for their cars (because they don’t have a CD deck!), some go for the 90’s indie rock/punk/hip hop that have historically thrived off self-released small labels, and others are young enough to have never experienced them growing up and are discovering the magic of tape for the first time!
Join us on the 8th of October to browse our wide variety of used tapes of all genres at prices that will make you smile! In addition, we are putting out a few hundred more titles of all different genres, and of course we are carrying EXCLUSIVE CASSETTE STORE DAY TITLES that are ONLY available at participating stores!
We’ll be … Read More »

You are cordially invited to the 20th Anniversary celebration of Iris Records in Jersey City on Saturday, October 15th! The event will take place in an AMAZING newly converted cathedral (don’t worry, it’s been “desanctified” and yes, that’s a thing) at 380 Montgomery Street in Jersey City, just a block and a half from the store. DJs will be spinning all night on a huge soundsystem, and a full bar will be on premises. Come hang out, cut a rug and hang out with Steve & Steve and all the other special people that help make Iris the go-to spot for vinyl in JC. Free for all and all ages welcome! Click the flyer below for a Facebook event link…
The Jersey City Record Riot is this Saturday, from 9am – 6pm, right outside the Grove St. PATH train! 20+ dealers from the East Coast selling all sorts of records, CDs and merch! DJs spinning all day and free admission for all. More info on our Facebook event page below:
Hello there, boys and girls. Please allow me to introduce myself. This is your soon- to- be- old pal Malcolm Tent talking to you. I sell records and stuff at many NYC area record shows. When not doing that, I travel this great land of ours playing my absurd brand of punk rock, either as a solo or with my fabulous band Ultrabunny.
When I tour, I do so as a tourist. I love to check out my surroundings during the down time between gigs. Since I’m almost always surfing on local couches, I have plenty of local people to show me what’s what in their town. And I’m always running across random sights while driving.
So here’s an alphabetical list of 10 amazing sights I saw while on tour in 2015.

During this festive season, you should think about where you’ve been and where you’re going (thanks Jimmy V), what records made you crazy in 2015, how you can improve your community, your family life, your health, ok your record collection too. And exactly who is that proud man in the picture? (More on him in a minute).Reflect and party. Give thanks. Make year-end lists. Spend NYE w/Steve + Steve.
Get our drift? No one ponders history more than us. During this festive season, you should think about where you’ve been and where you’re going (thanks Jimmy V), what records made you crazy in 2015, how you can improve your community, your family life, your health, ok your record collection too. First, a brief promotional announcement: Hanging … Read More »
Based on some shows I’ve reviewed for the site in the past, you might find it odd that I would take the time to go see Adele live at Radio City. Mrs. Bastone won 2 free tickets for the show. I like Adele’s music well enough, she’s got a fantastic singing voice, and seems to be a real and likeable person. So, I’m game. Let’s play. We head off to see Adele.
I had already known before we started our excursion that the show was being filmed for a major television special. I expected that that would bring out a lot of industry insiders, celebrities, and other publicity seekers. So the fact that this could potentially be a bit of a pain in the ass was on the menu.
We get there and wait in an enormous queue of other ‘lucky’ contest … Read More »
